This option will allow users to run Duet as a system service (also called ‘Enable Secure Remote Login’). It enables remote connections to the desktop even when the PC or Mac is locked and without a user account signed in, allowing secure login from a secondary device. Additionally, the feature offers options for auto-locking the system upon Remote desktop disconnects. For macOS, it supports FileVault encryption, allowing for secure connections after restarting a FileVault-protected device.
Duet as a Service (DaaS) enables the following features:
Unlock a Windows PC from a secondary computer
Connect to a PC or Mac that does not have a user account signed in
Connect to a PC or Mac after the device has been rebooted or just powered on
Able to access elevated permissions windows (e.g. Windows Task Manager, Lock Screen, etc.)
Able to use Duet’s Privacy Mode feature
Able to use Duet’s Lock On Disconnect feature
Adds the ability to send Ctrl - Alt - Del shortcut from an iOS device’s Remote Desktop Toolbar
Note: using Duet as a Service / “Remote Secure Login” will automatically enable the “Open at Login” setting and you will not be able to change.
How to Use
Open the ‘Settings’ tab in the Duet app.
Enable “Enable Secure Remote Login.”
Follow the prompt to close and reopen Duet, or use the “Restart” button in Duet’s UI if available.
