What connections does Duet make to the internet?

Duet only makes the necessary connections to deliver updates and send crash reports. Updates to the Mac app allow us to fix bugs, release new features and improve performance. Crash reports are essential in helping us diagnose and address issues before it affects a larger number of customers. Updates to the Mac app are rolled out over a period of time and this helps us ensure the stability of the update.

Connections made:

  • Duet Display server - to check the current version of the Mac app installed and see if there is an update
  • Devmate - file hosting for the Mac app and 2nd source of crash reports
  • Crashlytics - to issue anonymized crash reports to help improve the stability of the product

Previously Box was used to check for and issue updates to the Mac app:

  • Box cloud
  • Box.net

Still no luck? We are here to help!
