Duet Windows Stylus Guide For Photoshop

Photoshop

Are you subscribed to Duet Pro and having trouble using your Stylus with Duet and Photoshop? This short guide will help resolve this issue!

Steps

  1. If Photoshop is running please close it now.
  2. Browse to "C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop2023\Adobe Photoshop 2023 Settings"

Note: if you do not have Adobe Photoshop 2023 please update your path to include the appropriate release year.

  1. In the ‘Adobe Photoshop 2023 Settings’ folder look for a file called‘PSUserConfig.txt’.

Note: If the PSUserConfig.txt file does not exist for you create it now.

  1. Open the PSUserConfig.txt file in notepad or your preferred text editor. Lookfor a line that says:

UseSystemStylus 0

Change this line to instead say:

UseSystemStylus 1

Note: If you do not see the ‘UseSystemStylus’ line in your PSUserConfig.txt file be sure to add it as show below.

  1. Once the “UseSystemStylus” has been enabled save the PSUserConfig.txt file and reopen Adobe Photoshop.  Your Duet stylus should now work with Adobe Photoshop

Note: Change UseSystemStylus from 0 to 1 will break compatibilty between Wacom tablets and Photoshop.  Inorder to restore Wacom tablet compatibility you will need to set UseSystemStylus 0 but this will break DuetDisplay compatibility.
