Duet keeps a minimum amount of information to run the service.
If you create an account with us (such as for Remote Desktop), we require some basic information at the time of account creation. For all users, we record the creation date of the account, your email, a one-way hash for authentication, and the active subscription plan for the account. We also must keep the computers that you have authorized Duet Remote with, as this is required for a client to be able to remotely log in. We also must record the region you use the product in for license purposes by x264, a compression technology company.
For all other purposes, Duet directly stores no personally identifiable information on our servers. When using the software, Duet Display may store some anonymized information about you, including but not limited to your browser type, operating system type, hardware configuration, software versions, crash reports for our software, general usage data, and estimated geographic location. We use third third-party services such as but not limited to Google Analytics, Facebook, or Mixpanel. This data is collected solely for the purpose of improving your experience. We do not collect, store, or share any display screen data.
We may be required to disclose such information in order to comply with the law or legal process, protect or defend our or another party’s rights or property.
Duet Display will retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. If you would like to delete your personal information, you may email us directly to do so. We will retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements, but barring legal requirements, we will delete your full profile (within reason) within 90 days of your request.
